Dear ,
I am writing this newsletter during my holiday, so it will be a shorter one.
When my husband, me and our dog headed off on this vacation, we had a rough idea of where to go. We started from Bulgaria through North Macedonia and Kosovo to Albania which had been our main destination.
We had seen so many beautiful videos of this country and, obviously, got there with quite high expectations. The disappointment was big – for various reasons, the dirt and litter all over being the biggest one. Even the sea couldn’t entice us to swim.
Following our intuition, we headed South-East and crossed the border to Greece – something that had not been in our travel plans. 10 km after the border suddenly a lake appeared on our right, inviting us to take a break. Yari was the first one to run straight from the car towards the water – he did not even wait for us to join him. We slipped right into our bathing suits, ran after him and jumped right into the clear water. It felt like washing off the dust of the past days in just a couple of minutes. I think we all felt it equally.
The beauty of North-West Greece, especially the area called Epirus, is breathtaking. The amazing nature is honored by locals and tourists equally keeping everything perfectly clean and neat. Friendly people, nice restaurants, great food. And “never-ending” roads through magical forests and mountains.
Our journey has not ended yet, but this newsletter is waiting to be sent, so I just want to share with you the message that life has given me in the last weeks.
You can have plans, but they might be upset by unexpected events and experiences.
Then you have a choice. Or you are disappointed and angry, or you just surrender to where life takes you to.
Surrendering will most probably bring you new perspectives that might be totally different from your old ones.
Yes, you might have to change your plans or just give them up and trust, but it is up to you if you hold on to past ideas or you open up to what life has in store for you.
Sometimes it's about dealing with uncertainty and letting go of expectations to discover new sides of life and eventually of yourself or even redefine yourself.
I am wishing you a beautiful month of September – may life be good to you.
In the spirit of love and reconciliation
